The Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences of Karadeniz Technical University has been established in 1982 to regulate, administrate, and control the graduate education. In the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, the principal administrative staff dealing with academic and administrative matters is composed of the Director, two Vice-Directors and three faculty members elected by the Graduate Council with 24 members. These members are the Director and two Vice-Directors of the Graduate School, and heads of 27 departments.

Over the last 20 years, the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences graduated over 1850 master students and 650 PhD students. Currently, out of 1985 graduate students, 1334 master students and 651 PhD students are taking their post graduate studies in the school.

The students who want to have a graduate degree must have proficiency in English. The students whose English is not good enough have to take an Intensive English Program for one or two semesters, depending on the level of their English, from the Department of Foreign Languages, affiliated with Karadeniz Technical University and situated on the coast of Black Sea.
