his course includes; the definition of cell culture; eukaryotic cell types and their features; aseptic methods in cell culture laboratory; contents of cell culture media; the conditions of cell culture and the maintenance of these conditions; methods for cell proliferation, freezing, thawing and long-term storage; detection of cell viability; the definitions of detections of cell cycle, cell death and DNA damage; properties of cancer cells; the use of cell culture in biotechnological applications such as recombinant DNA technology, cell banking, gene therapy, tissue engineering, stem cell therapy, and cloning. |
