Nowadays, the structures are usually designed according to the force-based methods. In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the design of the structures by means of control of the displacement. The seismic code TBDY2018 includes also displacement-based design principles in addition to forced-based design principles. In this course, how to design the structures according to the displacement-based design principles is explained. Lectures are supported with numerical examples. |
